Event Description
The February FORGE luncheon will feature Mitch Priestley as he shares practical tips and concepts from his book titled 7 Tactics of Successful Negotiation. The event will be held Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at Marylhurst University
Mitch’s “7 Tactics of Successful Negotiation” are proven, successful principles for discovering the best deal possible when buying, selling, or attempting to discover a win-win agreement with another party. In addition to practical application in both business and real estate, Mitch has received formal training in negotiating from Harvard Business School, Stanford Graduate School of Business, and the Karrass Institute for Effective Negotiating.
Mitch started his own business at the age of 17, a computer training company that grew to become New Horizons Computer Learning Center, and the recipient of numerous awards:
1. Named two consecutive years by Oregon Business magazine as one of the Top 10 Growth companies in Oregon, and twice nationally to the Inc. 500 List of the 500 fastest-growing privately-held companies in America.
2. Selected to receive the Certificate of Quality Commitment by the Oregon Quality Award.
3. Named one of Oregon’s 100 Best Companies to Work For, by Oregon Business magazine.
After 28 years in business, Mitch successfully sold his company in 2009, and now Mitch is a trainer and speaker who works with companies of all sizes to provide training that ensures their staff is aware of what it takes to make a company successful.
Nike’s motto is “Just Do It,” but when it comes to training its sales force how to “do it”, Nike turns to Mitch, hosting him locally and flying him to out of state to speak to its sales force when they gather for training. Mitch’s “C-O-P-E” system for coping with obstacles and achieving sales success has been invaluable to Nike’s sales team.
