Willamette Shore Trolley - Volunteers needed: Open house Saturday March 14
Willamette Shore Trolley - Open house for Volunteers
WST line
The Willamette Shore Trolley (WST) provides beautiful, scenic rides in Vintage Trolleys between downtown Lake Oswego and SW Bancroft Street in Portland (OR). WST trolleys run on Saturdays and Sundays from May to November with extra rides on Fridays in July and August.
100% run by Volunteers
Volunteers operate the WST ticket office (depot), the trolleys and narrate the rides. For the 2020 season, WST’s cadre needs motormen, conductors and station agents to meet the schedule. About two hundred four hour slots must be filled by volunteers to ensure that no
Volunteer training starts in March, in time for the season opening in May.
Volunteer requirements
Prior experience with public transportation is not required. WST operators are of a diverse plumage, e.g. an emeritus professor in pediatric dentistry, a minister, a LO policeman. What we all share is a love of trolleys and enjoy sharing the beauty of the ride and the trolleys with our passengers. To operate WST trolleys, a valid driver’s license is needed and a membership of WST’s parent, OERHS. See www.oerhs.org.
